Diamond Importers was created by Ted Diamantis in 1992. It was born out of the vision and the belief that Greece with its natural terrior of mountain vineyards and maritime influenced climate combined with volcanic and alluvial soils and blessed with over 200 ancient indigenous varieties, can once again become a source of some of the greatest wines in the world.
Over the course of 20 years of tasting and traveling thru out Greece, Diamond Importers has compiled a portfolio of the top producers from their respective regions. We have focused on representing the best artisan producers from there specific appellations that are working with the local native varieties as well some international varieties.
The goal of Diamond Importers is to educate and enlighten the American market to the wonderful ancient varieties and appellations of Greece,simply put, we at Diamond Importers are dedicated to bringing to the US market the best regional, vineyard driven producers from Greece. What that means to us is that we focus on producers/growers that live and toil on there land with one singular goal, to make the best wine possible and to accomplish it without insulting nature and preserving the heritage of quality set forth by there forefathers and since antiquity.
Diamond Importers is proud to represent only individuals that show this respect and homage to their trade and have a sense of balance of life and a perspective for their place in the world.

Alexakis Winery
The Alexakis family is one of the most important ambassadors of Cretan wine. It is the largest privately owned winery in Crete and during its long path has collaborated with all the winegrowers on the island. The result is high quality wines that truly represent the Cretan terroir. The winery is a family affair. Stelios Alexakis, chemical engineer turned winemaker is still in charge of the winery with his wife Sofia responsible for quality control.
Children Apostolos and Lazaros, who literally grew up in the winery, join their father as winemakers and are now responsible for the planning and production, successfully transferring the valuable knowledge and insight of their parents.

Douloufakis Estate
Coming in 2012
The tradition and history of Douloufakis Family in vine-yard cultivation and production started in 1930 when the grandfather Dimitris Douloufakis fist established the professional wine production in old traditional premises.
In 1952 Douloufakis Family participated in the 17th International Trade Fair of Thessaloniki and was awarded a title for the quality of its products.
Nowadays the vineyard cultivation and wine-production tradition of the Family is continued by the grandson Nikolas Douloufakis. Having studied Oinology in Italy (Alba Intituto Agrario-Spezialitato in Diviticultura e Enologia) he has proceeded to the renewing of the wine premises (E.C. Grant:Executive Program for Industry, Ε.Π.ΒΙ., 1996) and to the production of superior quality wines from his own vine-yards.
Domaine Skouras

Domaine Skouras was established in 1986 in Pyrgela, Argos by Dijon-trained oenologist George Skouras. In 1988 Skouras launched his pioneering Megas Oenos label. Pioneering because he was the first winemaker to blend Saint George, a Greek grape (aka Aghiorghitiko), with Cabernet Sauvignon and with illustrious results. Domaine Skouras is at the forefront of Greek estates, full of momentum and with a sharp focus on its future. Demand for its terroir-driven and estate-bottled wines is consistent both at home and around the world. For what makes these wines so popular is the fact that Skouras does not compromise quality or craftsmanship. In fact, there is always something better, something more, with each and every vintage, for each and every product.

Domaine Sigalas

Domaine Sigalas is located in Oia, Santorini, more specifically in the Baxedes area. Here the Santorini Assyrtiko as well as the Aidani, Athiri, Mandilaria and Mavrotragano varietals thrive. The vineyards for these varietals are considered the oldest continuously cultivated vineyards in the world, over 3000 years.
The volcanic soils and climate of the viticulture area are the most unique and this "terrior" can not be replicated anywhere else in the world. This is indeed a very special place. The Sigalas Assyritko is arguably one of the most acclaimed white wines in the world.

Domaine Karydas
On a small estate in Northern Greece, a father and son team developed a pristine Xinomavro vineyard on the limestone soils in the Gastra region of Naoussa. This small estate makes only 1200cs of wine per vintage from 100% Xinomavro and captures the true essence of the variety and the soil. Domaine Karydas is a great example of tradition meeting the modern day pursuit of excellence.

Alpha Estate is situated in the "AMPELIA" location (meaning vines), in the heart of the Amyndeon region, an area of VQPRD wines in the northern part of Greece. Two factors contribute to the special character of Alpha Estate grapes: mesoclimate and soil. Moderate temperatures and heavy winter rains create ideal conditions for the grapes to ripen. Poor soils with good drainage create a mild water deficit, resulting in small berries with intense red color and concentrated flavors and aromas.
This estate is considered one of the most cutting edge producers in Greece and has created the most technologically advanced vineyards in the viticulture world. They always strive for precision grape growing and focused terrior driven wines that are bold and exciting.
